João Carlos, is as a commercial photographer and artist, possesses a rich international and local experience. Born in New York and with a strong connection to his Portuguese roots, João brings a unique artistic perspective to his work. His academic training was completed at the prestigious Ar.Co Institute of Art and Visual Communication in Lisbon, and he has stood out in both advertising campaigns and exhibitions in galleries and museums. His versatility spans various areas of photography, including fashion, advertising, art, and portrait, always with meticulous attention to detail. Besides his work as a photographer, João Carlos has rich experience as an educator, having acted as a trainer in renowned photography schools such as ETIC, IPCI, and MEF. This aspect of his career highlights his commitment to inspiring and developing the next generation of photographers. Recognized for his excellence, he was awarded the Hasselblad Master Prize in 2010 and named Portuguese Photographer of the Year in 2023. As a brand ambassador, he collaborated with leading companies such as Sandisk, Fujifilm, Koylab, Profoto, and Westcott. João has an impressive client list, including Nike, Avon, and the European Commission, reflecting his prestige in the world of photography.
